lamp made from a mesh
network of date palm bamboo strips entwined with raffia ropes, laid with embedded spongy ropes and tissue
paper over acrylic bond adhesive.
Background:
One can always see in the
subtle glow of the eggs of amphibians, tiny reddish veins crisscrossed in a
meshwork of a translucent and oval form. Akwa Nwerre is amphibious in
interpretation, taking the egg as a cocoon.
